Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has restated his commitment to make the waterways in the state cleaner and safer.

He did this at this year’s edition of the Lagos Boat Regatta organized at the Lagoon front in Ikoyi.

Ambode said his administration would strive to make the right investments in the shoreline, keeping it cleaner and safer so as to boost tourism, water transportation, and other related economic activities.

He explained that there would be further investments and partnerships in the channeling of the water routes, as well as providing more regular jetties and ferries.

The governor further noted that the Lagos Lagoon possibly boasts of the busiest waterways in West Africa and that this is one of the reasons he is determined to see that the project succeeds.
