Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has proposed manslaughter charges for anyone caught vandalizing government infrastructure.

Addressing State House correspondents at the special weekly briefing organized by the Presidential Communication Team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Friday, Amaechi said this will help to curb the daily acts of sabotage and obstruction on rail projects being carried out by the government.

He said that such acts are capable of causing major disasters for rail travellers.

He explained that over 10, 000 rail clips have been stolen and the government is spending a lot daily to replace them.

The Minister said that works on the rail projects are steadily progressing but there are slight delays resulting from lack of funds and engagement of local supervising engineer
