Algeria sticks with chloroquine treatment for COVID-19

Although, the World Health Organisation has repeatedly warned against the usage of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in treatment against the COVID-19 disease,  Algeria medical workers have declared that they would not stop using the drug to try and cure COVID-19. 

The health workers in the country insisted that they have used the drug on people who have tested positive for the virus and they’ve received positive results so far.

Algeria has confirmed 8,697 cases of the virus and 617 deaths have been recorded.

The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, declared that places of worship in the country will reopen in June but the number of people in attendance must not be greater than 50.

South Africa has confirmed 24,264 cases of the COVID-19 virus with 524 deaths.

Mozambique has recorded its first death from the COVID-19 virus. The victim was a 13-year-old girl from Nampula, Mozambique, who already suffered from a pre-existing health condition.

The little girl passed away on Monday 25th of May 2020.

Mozambique has confirmed 213 cases of the COVID-19 disease and has recorded one death.

Egypt now confirmed 18,756 cases of the COVID-19 and 797 deaths, while Morocco confirmed 7,577 cases of the COVID-19 and has recorded 202 deaths.

Ghana with 7,117 confirmed cases and 34 deaths. Sudan with 4,146 cases of the virus and 184 deaths. Nigeria with 8,344 cases of the virus and 249 deaths. Guinea has confirmed 3,275 cases of the virus with 20 deaths.
