Manchester United’s coach, Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez is out of the Champions League tie against Juventus at Old Trafford. The Chilean who was a late substitute in the thrilling draw at Stamford Bridge over the weekend did not train with the team earlier today, with reports emerging that he wants out of the club.
Mourinho in his pre-match conference ahead of the Juventus game addressed Sanchez’s omission from training: “The players you saw [training] are the players who are available. Nothing to hide. Alexis is out.”
Alexis Sanchez has struggled immensely since making the move to Old Trafford in January, scoring less than five goals and posting four assists in over 22 games for the club. His drastic decline from his lofty heights has led to speculations of a winter exit from United.
