The spokesperson for jailed Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny says his health is deteriorating while in custody.
In a series of posts on Twitter, Kira Yarmysh said an ambulance had been called for Navalny on Friday night due to “acute stomach pain” but that he had been offered no diagnosis or treatment.
Yarmysh said Navalny had lost 8kg over the course of 15 days in solitary confinement.
The 46-year-old is serving combined sentences of eleven-and-a-half years in a high-security penal colony for fraud and contempt of court on charges that he says were trumped up to silence him.
