$402 million earnings from Cashew Production in Nigeria

The National Cashew Association of Nigeria NCAN has come out to disclose its remarkable profit earnings in the year 2017.

Tola Faseru, the President of the body explained that production of the cash crop had increased from 90000 metric tonnes in 2011 to about 222000 in the year 2017, which estimates to $402 million.

This shows immense progress when compared alongside other cash crops. It also infers that the value of Cashew has increased considerably over the years and gained acceptance across borders. Faseru, also noted that this positive growth will have a ripple effect encouraging local farmers to cultivate and increase the standards of their livelihood as well.
