MINISTER OF THE Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has criticized the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU-EOM) report on the 2023 general election in Nigeria, claiming it was an inaccurate reflection of the election. Wike argued that the report did not accurately represent the true position of the last election, particularly in his state, Rivers. He criticized the EU for not providing an accurate report of Nigeria’s electoral democracy. The EU-EOM, led by Barry Andres, presented its final report in June, highlighting six priority areas with recommendations.
EU Ambassador to Nigeria, Samuela Isopi, emphasized the election report’s independence and commitment to working with the Minister to enhance development in Nigeria and beyond.
