Nigeria’s House of Representatives has threatened to blacklist Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs, from the budget over failure to appear before the House.

The House spokesperson, Benjamin Kalu, noted that many agencies have been found wanting of spending their internally generated revenue without recourse to the law.

Kalu further revealed that the National Assembly is working on enacting a law that will enable revenue-generating agencies to curtail that.

Also, the House of Representatives has asked for more time to deliver the amendment to the 1999 Constitution insisting that quality can not be jeopardized at the altar of speed.

The House spokesperson disclosed that there is no sacrosanct date for the passage of the amendments to the 1999 Constitution but revealed that the Electoral Act amendment will be passed before the end of the year after all grey areas have been reviewed.
