Jeff Bezos has announced plans to vacate the driver’s seat of Amazon, 30 years after he begun the business venture. The company announced that the 57 year old leader will be officiallty by the second half of 2021.
Jeff Bezos who has found his way back to the top spot as the richest man on the planet revealed in a statement to Amazon Staff that the reason for his decision is to focus on his other initiatives like Blue Origin, Bezos Earth Fund and his other passions.
He claims his energy is at an all-time high as he has no plans of retiring, however the position of the CEO at Amazon is time consuming and is a deep responsibility.
Amazon which started as an online bookshop in 1994 skyrocketed to become a multibillion-dollar business and led Bezos to the land of Midas. He is now worth $196.2 billion as reported by Forbes.
The organization has proved resilient over the years and even led the pace in some originally tech-dominated fields such as cloud computing.
Jeff Bezos will maintain the position of Executive Chairman, a role he believes will give him more time to pursue his passions and a bird-eye view of course on Amazon’s dealings.
