Plateau State Governor directs security agencies to halt killings in Bassa villages

Two health workers with the Plateau state government, north-central Nigeria, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID- 19).

Dr. Nimkong Lar, the State’s Commissioner for Health, disclosed this to reporters on Wednesday after an emergency Executive Council meeting which took place at the Government House in Jos.

He explained that the total cases of COVID-19 in the state had increased to 57 following the seven new cases confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Tuesday night.

The Commissioner said four patients were discharged on Tuesday, bringing the total number of patients treated and discharged in the state to 15 so far.
