101 NSCDC officers receive special weapon handling training

One hundred and one Officers and Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have received special weapon handling training.

The training is part of efforts to curb security challenges in different parts of Niger State.

The Commandant of the Corps in the state, Haruna Zurmi, said the training became necessary as part of measures being taken by the Commandant-General to bring back the glory of the agency.

Zurmi said that 123 Officers and Men of the Command were trained in January.

He is optimistic about the desire of the Corps to curtail the activities of criminal elements in the country.

The Commandant further said there is a need for the security agencies to be equipped with modern technology to enhance their performance.

The Zone D Assistant Commandant-General, Clausus Yakubu, charged the Officer and Men to justify the confidence reposed on them in the tasks ahead.

Governor Abubakar Bello assured the Corps of the state government’s support as part of efforts to address some of the challenges affecting them.
