#EndSARS protesters in Abuja say they have lost confidence in the ability of the Nigerian government to implement their 5-point demand and may soon resume another nationwide protest.

The activists gave the indication during a procession along major roads in Abuja on Wednesday to mark the one year anniversary of the #EndSARS protest which claimed many lives and property worth millions of naira destroyed.

There was tight security on the way leading to the Unity Fountain in Abuja where hundreds of #EndSARS protesters had converged before embarking on the procession to mark the one year anniversary of the two-week nationwide protests held in October last year.

In the midst of the heavy security, Nigerian youths in their hundreds, displayed their messages on placards as they chanted the 5 demands including an end to bad governance and police brutality.

On the flip side, a pro-Buhari group rejected calls for another round of nationwide #EndSARS protests.

Hundreds of the youths also held a candlelight procession in honour of those who died during last year’s protests and other victims of police brutality.
