TOKYO PARALYMPICS: Team Nigeria Ends Campaign As 33RD On Medals Table

After nearly two weeks of hostilities and record-shattering performances by athletes from around the globe, the 2020 Paralympics ended in Tokyo this Sunday.

China finished on top of the medal table with 207, including 96 gold medals, followed by Britain with 41 gold, the United States is third with a total of 37 gold, and the Russian Paralympics Committee RPC earned 36 gold to place fourth.

Team Nigeria Athletes ended their campaign with a total of 10 medals comprising four gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.

With a total of four gold medals amassed, Nigeria finished as 33rd country overall on the official medals table released by the International Paralympic Committee.

Team Nigeria’s performance is a disparity to that of the 2016 edition in Rio where the country accumulated eight gold, two, and two bronze medals.
