Blessing Oborodudu has won Nigeria’s first silver medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics after losing to Tamyra Mensah-Stock 3-1 in the final of the 68kg Women’s Freestyle Wrestling.
The feat by Oborodudu earns its Nigeria first-ever medal in wrestling despite losing for the fourth time to Mensah-Stock who is debuting at the Olympics.
Nigeria will still be presented with another opportunity to win an additional medal when 2018 Commonwealth Gold Medallist, Odunayo Adekuoroye, takes to the mat against Moldova’s Anastasia Nichita in the Women’s Freestyle 57kg class.
