A new species of sharks have been discovered. This discovered species walk with their muscular pelvic fins. This way of movement happens to be unusual and uncommon discovery.
While working on the only one walking species discovered, four others were unravelled. This discovery reveals or made it known that modern sharks have the ability to easily adapt to environmental changes coupled with that they have evolutionary staying power.
Australia, Eastern Indonesia, and New Guinea are home to the newly discovered walking sharks’ species. Conservation international released videos of the discovered walking shark species moving along the ocean floor in search of food.
As gathered from CNN, the discovered species are set to be enlisted on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
The protection of these walking shark species will provide income for local communities as it could be used for tourist attraction. And also for this discovered species to thrive and survive more, the existence should be globally known i.e. there should be a global recognition for the walking shark species.
