Hollywood Icon Peter Mayhew who played the role of Chewbacca in the Star Wars Trilogy is dead.
Peter Mayhew passed away on the 30th of April, surrounded by his wife and children at his home in North Texas.
According to his family, Peter poured his heart and soul into his role of Chewbacca and the Star Wars crew were like family to him.
Peter Mayhew launched a foundation named after him to support people in crisis. A memorial service will be held on June 29 by his family and friends.
Mayhew was 74 years of age at his passing.
