Samia Suhulu Hassan, Tanzania’s president has called on the nation’s Central Bank to work on a sustainable digital currency adoption plan so as not to be left behind.
According to the president, while many countries are yet to embrace cryptocurrency and other digital forms of payment, the Bank of Tanzania needs to be proactive in seeking solutions early on.
This comes in the wake of El Salvador’s official announcement to accept cryptocurrency as a legal tender.
