Former Tanzanian President, John Pombe Magufuli will finally be laid to rest at his hometown in Chato. His remains after stationed across the nation for public viewing and mourning was moved to Chato for a private funeral ceremony amidst close family and relatives.
The ceremony surrounded by surveillance equipment and security was led by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa and in attendance is the Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla as well as the Head of Defense Forces General, Venance Mabeyo.
The state disclosed that Magufuli passed on after a decade long battle with Heart complications however the opposition have long argued that the president was infected with the dreaded coronavirus.
