President Kabore of Burkina Faso has warned against the scheduled July 3-4 nationwide protests in the country against terrorism on grounds that the strike will do nothing to solve the issue of terrorism in the country.

After 160 persons lost their lives on the 4th of June at Solhan, which borders Mali and Niger, by unknown terrorists around 2 am, many citizens have remained startled by the experience despite a national 3-day mourning period.

“Neither the marches, the insidious publications on social media nor the calls to question our dearly acquired democracy will make it possible to put an end to terrorism in our country”, he said.

Protests already ensued in parts of Kaya for increased protection from the government and against the departure of foreign troops

Several homes were burnt and the massacre has been described as the worst in recent times. It has been greatly condemned by the United Nations Chief, Antonio Guterres and other Foreign leaders.
