The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has expressed shock over the resumption of a suspended strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD.

Deputy Director of Press, Charles Akpan, in a statement, said the Ministry has not received any strike notice from the resident doctors.

Akpan said the Minister had in a meeting in July assured the doctors of the government’s prompt implementation of agreements reached.

The NARD announced the resumption of a suspended strike on Friday in Umuahia, Abia State capital, accusing the Federal Government of reneging in agreements reached.
