Controversy has continued to trail the creation of Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, in Ekiti State.

Residents of seven out of the eight communities which constitute the newly created Ikole West LCDA in Ekiti State are calling on the state government to reverse its earlier decision to locate the Headquarters of the LCDA in Ijesa Isu.

The call was made in Usin Ekiti during the unveiling of a temporary secretariat for the new LCDA.

This is just as traditional rulers from seven out of the eight autonomous communities that constitute Ikole South West LCDA said they would not recognize Ijesa Isu as the Headquarters.

Youths, women, and chiefs from the seven communities also added their voice to the agitations by the traditional rulers.

When contacted, the Ekiti State LCDA Creation and Implementation Committee confirmed receiving a memo from the community leaders and promised to look into the issues.
