Several have gathered in New York to protest against discrimination suffered by the Asian American community. This follows a mass shooting that left six Asian women dead in Atlanta.
The shooting spree, which killed 8 individuals, was done by a 21-year old Aaron Long who claimed his sex addiction led him to the violence. Investigators believe otherwise.
The Asian Community have also reportedly suffered marginalization since the Coronavirus broke out. The former President, Donald Trump also referred to it as the Chinese Virus.
The mass shootings in the United States has also been a longstanding issue of concern, the prresident is currently mulling over an assault weapon ban and an executive order on gun control.
The United States has a record of 653,000 gun related deaths since 2001
