The Niger State Police Command has promoted two thousand, two hundred and nineteen officers to their next ranks.
Speaking shortly after decorating ten new officers in Minna, the Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, explained that their promotion was based on merit.
The breakdown of the promotion according to the Commissioner of Police Adamu Usman shows that one Chief Superintendent of Police was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police, 21 Superintendents of Police were promoted to Chief Supretendents, while five Deputy Superintendent of Police has been decorated with the Superintendent of Police ranks.
Also, four Assistant Superintendent of Police is now Deputy Superintendent of Police, as two hundred and eighty-two Inspectors are now Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Others are one thousand one hundred and twenty Sergeants are now Inspectors, as five hundred and twenty one Corporals are now Sergeants, and two hundred and sixty four Constables have been promoted to Corporals
Usman urged them to use their experience towards achieving the mandate of the police, especially at this period that the state is faced with numerous security challenges.
