Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Delta State Police Command have neutralised a three-man armed robbery gang who were en route an operation, killing one.
The incident which followed a gun duel between the police and the gang while on stop-and-search operation in Umunede, along the Benin/Asaba Expressway, left two other members of the gang fleeing with severe bullet wounds.
Items recovered from their abandoned stolen vehicle were a locally-made pistol loaded with live cartridge and two expended cartridges.
Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed, in a statement signed by the Command spokesperson, Bright Edafe, assured that the Command remains resolute in ridding Delta State of criminal elements.
