Two thousand, one hundred, and fifty-three police officers have been deployed by the Delta State Police Command across the 23 local government areas of the state.

They are to provide security in all Muslim praying grounds and other strategic locations during the Eid-el Kabir prayers and celebration.

The Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed, who made the disclosure, said all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers have been directed to intensify raids on criminal hideouts and black spots within their command areas.

The directive follows intelligence gathering of possible attacks by suspected hoodlums and cultists roaming about to make the state ungovernable.

While wishing the entire Muslims a hitch-free and Happy Eid-el Kabir celebration, the Commissioner of Police further reaffirmed that the Command will continue to build more records of successes in curbing crime.
