PDP Application Seeking Uzodimma’s Removal-

The Supreme Court has dismissed an application by Emeka Ihedioha, of the Peoples Democratic Party seeking to remove Hope Uzodinma from office as Imo state governor.

Reading the lead judgment on Tuesday, Justice Tijjani Abubakar, held that the application lacked merit,was frivolous and vexatious.

He said the court lacked jurisdiction to determine the matter, adding that the 60 days stipulated to hear the election matter had since elapsed.

Abubakar, subsequently fined Counsel for the PDP, Mike Ozekhome, S.A.N, N40m for bringing the matter before the court.

Terrorists have killed one person and abducted eight passengers returning from an installation ceremony in Borgu local government area of Niger State.

The installation ceremony the victims attended was that of the chairman of Borgu Kingmakers and Chief Priest Bakarabonde.

The Chairman of Borgu local government area, Alhaji Sulaiman Yerima, while confirming the incident stated that the terrorists contacted him asking for a ransom of N17 million to secure the release of the abductees.

Huge crowd besieged banking halls as customers moved to link their Bank Verification Numbers and National Identity Numbers to their bank accounts.

This followed the new directive of the banking regulator to the banks on Friday, to bar customers who were yet to link their BVN and NIN from having access to their accounts.

The deadline for the link of bvn and nin to every citizens account is slated for March 1, 2024, after which all funded accounts or wallets shall be placed on ‘Post no debit or credit’ and no further transactions permitted On said accounts.

Nigerian singer Opeyemi Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, has expressed his desire to return to his former record label, YBNL Nation.

The singer clarified that leaving YBNL wasn’t intentional and he expressed a desire to return, citing a lack of communication with Olamide before his departure.

Lyta mentioned that Olamide doesn’t follow anyone on Instagram, including him. He left YBNL Nation in 2019 after a disagreement with Olamide.

He disclosed in an interview in 2022 that he left YBNL Nation because he “heard a lot of things from friends and people in the industry.”

There is tension in the village of Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area, as at least 30 villagers are feared dead in a deadly bomb blast reportedly orchestrated by a suspected Nigerian Air Force jet.

The incident took place at 9 PM during Maulud, a festive gathering commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

There are indications that the death toll might increase.

As of press time, authorities have yet to provide a clear picture of what transpired. Dangote Refinery: Operation To Start With 350,000bpd Crude — C.E.O

The President/Chief Executive Officer, Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote says the $20bn Dangote refinery in Lekki, Lagos would start with the refining of 350,000 barrels per day of crude oil.

Dangote, who disclosed this during an interview also stated that the refinery would receive about six million barrels of crude in December 2023.

The Business mogul said he believed the refinery could reach its capacity of 650,000 barrels a day by the end of 2024, although the IMF has said it doubts it will reach more than a third of that by 2025.

At full tilt, the refinery, the world’s largest “single train” facility with just one distillation unit, could save Nigeria billions in foreign exchange currently spent on imported fuel.
