Ousted Sudan PM 'living in' Coup Leader's House

According to Sudan’s most senior general, the military took power on Monday to prevent a civil war. Political parties had been encouraging civilians against security personnel, according to Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

He stated he was holding Abdalla Hamdok, the deposed civilian Prime Minister, in his house “for his protection,” but that he will return to his own residence on Tuesday. Protests in Khartoum’s capital have continued for a second day, with several roads, bridges, and shops blocked.

The phone and internet connections have been severely hampered. Since the rioting began, at least ten people have been killed, according to reports.
