North-west governors to explore avenues to curtail insurgency

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has said that the governors of the Northwest Region will explore avenues to curtail insurgency.

Governor Bagudu disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, during a meeting with Fulani, stakeholders’ peace, security, and unity meeting.

The Governor told the gathering that President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to protecting the lives and properties of the citizens of the country.

Bagudu acknowledged the relentless efforts of all the security agencies in the country, in the fight against insurgency,

He stressed that the state government is not relenting in its efforts, of securing the abducted students and staff of Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The former Governor of Kebbi State, Sa’idu Dakingari, suggested possible solutions to the issues raised, affecting the people of the state in general.

Saidu Dakingari assured the people, that the committee he is chairing, would follow up on all the issues raised, as recommendations.

The former Governor stressed the need for the state government to revive grazing reserves and cattle routes for the Fulanis, as part of measures, of minimizing conflict between the farmers and herders.
