The trial of the self-acclaimed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, commenced on Monday with so many expectations from Nigerians.

It has been from one security check to another as lawyers, litigants, and journalists tried to gain access into the Federal High Court Abuja, where the trial of the proscribed IPOB leader is expected to resume.

At the main entrance to the Federal High Court, only selected journalists and lawyers were allowed into the court premises as operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, said they are working with a list.

Outside the court premises, a few of the IPOB supporters who gathered were dispersed by the security operatives.

The Convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, who was also denied access to the court was involved in a little face-off with the police as the exchange of words led to him being apprehended by the police.

As of the time this report was filed, it’s not sure whether Sowore was actually remanded in police custody or let go as he was whisked away by the police.

Fillers gotten outside the court premises indicated that the trial of Kanu has begun but still not sure if the IPOB leader is physically present in court.
