The Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Dr Ibrahim Kana has disclosed that at least nine Nigerians have died while performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
According to him, a Lagos State Pilgrim identified as Alhaji Abdullateef Abdulkarim collapsed and was brought to the hospital in Muna died as she was hypertensive. She died while heading to Jamrat while trying to throw a stone at the devil.
Stoning the three devils is one of the Islamic rites towards an acceptable Hajj.
The set date for return has also been set to August 17 for the Nigerian Pilgrims to return home.
