The first case of Covid19 (Coronavirus) was recorded in Lagos, Nigeria yesterday, Thursday 27th of February 2020 by the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria.
The virus victim is an Italian man who returned from Milan, Italy on the Tuesday 25th of February 2020.
The virus was confirmed positive after testing the victim’s blood samples at the virology lab in LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital)
The Ministry of health is currently trying to narrow down all the people that have come in contact with the victim since he arrived in Nigeria so that they can be placed under quarantine.
The patient is said to be stable with only mild symptoms of the virus and is currently receiving care at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
The Health Ministry wants people to watch themselves for symptoms.
