23 aspirants for the forthcoming July 30 elections in Zimbabwe have signed a peace pledge making sure that they and their political parties are peaceful ahead of the elections.

The event which was organised by the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC), is coming after the President Mnangagwa rally was attacked.

A few presidential candidates were absent but represented by senior party members at the signing ceremony, that had high-ranking U.N officials in attendance like the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Bishow Parajuli and Head of the European Union Delegation in Zimbabwe, Philippe Van Damme.
