The Zimbabwean government has legalized both the production and sale of cannabis for medical and scientific purposes.
The statutory Instrument titled Production of Cannabis for Medical and scientific use regulations announced by the government on Friday said that producers of marijuana and cannabis can now apply for licenses from Zimbabwe’s ministry of health.

As part of the requirements, the regulation also stated that producers may either be citizens of the country or have proof of residency, for individuals.

As for companies, they are required to show proof of affiliations in Zimbabwe before they are allowed to go into production.

It is also important for producers to note that they are subject to auditing by the ministry at any time.

Other requirements include copies of proposed site plan and application for licenses. Samples of products would also have to be analyzed by the ministry.
