Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, on Thursday advised the Nigeria Labour Congress to end its industrial action to give the office the opportunity to process the civil servants’ wages for this month.

Ahmed Idris said the warning strike had prevented staff who are responsible for the release of funds for salaries from accessing their offices.

According to him, this could make it hard for the Federal Government as promised, to pay the workers their wages before the month ends.

As he made this appeal, he added that he and staff of his office who arrived for work on Thursday were denied access to their offices as the gates were shut.

The labour union leaders responded to appeals and he was granted access, but the gate remained closed to other staff.
