President Uhuru Kenyatta visits Bob Marley’s Widow, Rita Marley

Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday met with Bob Marley’s widow, Rita Marley in Jamaica at the 400th anniversary of International Decade of People of African Descent in Kingston.

Rita, the founder and chairperson of both the Robert Marley Foundation, Rita Marley Foundation and Bob Marley Group of Companies met with Kenyatta who reportedly disclosed he was honoured to represent Africa at the event.

Rita, an awardee of the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican Government and recipient of the Marcus Garvey Lifetime Award in 2010 has adopted no less than 35 children of Ethiopian origin, a place she described as Bob Marley’s resting place.
