Ekweremadu draws attention to Xenophobic attacks at International Parliament

The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has called on the Igbo race to be united so as to benefit from the opportunity presented by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, which aims to place the Igbos at the centre of governance in Nigeria. 

Ekweremadu whose recent romance with the ruling party All Progressives Congress, APC, , was shrouded in controversy, made the call while addressing a large number of party members at the PDP southeast zonal rally in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Tuesday. 

The PDP southeast zonal rally was a gathering of who-is-who in the political landscape of the region. Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, former governors and former ministers from the region were on ground to pledge their support for Atiku and Obi presidential ticket. 

The Deputy President of the Senate and Chairman of the South-East PDP Governors Forum, Dave Umeahi, were also on hand to solicit votes for PDP. 
The National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus and other speakers told the people that PDP is the party with the solution to the problems facing the country. 

The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar called on the people to come out and vote for PDP and defend their votes.

The three PDP governors of Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia States who are also contesting for the second term were handed the party’s flag as candidates for the March 3, 2019, governorship election.
