The mother of al-Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden has given her first interview about her son, seven years after his death in 2011.
Alia Ghanem who spoke to the UK Guardian newspaper described her son as a shy, good child who was brainwashed at the university.
Ghanem who spoke from the family’s home in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia said the Muslim Brotherhood organisation, which her son became involved with while studying, was like a “cult”.
Family members said they last saw Bin Laden in 1999, two years before the attacks when he was living in Afghanistan, by which time he was already considered a major global terror suspect.
