Nigerian Government is taking steps to resolve the incessant farmers/and herders clashes across the country.

One of the steps is the drilling of wells and building of reservoirs across the 415 grazing reserves, covering five million hectares in the country.

This was made public by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh at a forum of borehole drillers in Abuja.

Ogbeh, however, regretted that despite the growing need for quality milk and beef to cater for malnourished children, the country breeds the most unproductive cows in the world.

The Minister said the government will engage borehole drilling professionals to ensure standards in the provision of clean water for 20 million cows in Nigeria and other visiting cattle from Niger, Chad, and Mauritania.
