Appeal court okays final forfeiture of N1.4bn Paris club refund

The Federal High Court in Abuja has re-affirmed the candidature of Uchechukwu Ogah as the authentic governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State.

In a ruling delivered by Justice Anwuri Chikere, the court also restrained a contestant, Ikechi Emenike from parading himself as the APC governorship candidate in the state.

After the hotly contested primaries in the state, Ogah approached the court and sought for an order restraining the APC from forwarding any name to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, other than his name as its governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2019 general elections pending the determination of the suit.

He also sought an order of the court restraining the INEC from removing or substituting the plaintiff’s name as governor of Abia State in the 2019 election.
