Governor Seriake Dickson says the new Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa, has the potential to be one of the best in Africa and the world if properly managed with academic work billed to commence in the first quarter of 2019.
The Bayelsa State Governor, who spoke to journalists shortly after an inspection of ongoing work at the institution, said with the major investment made by his administration in the health and other key sectors, Bayelsa State will in no distant time become one of the leading centers of human capacity development in the country and the African continent.
The Governor emphasized his administration’s passion for making Bayelsa the home of hospitality and a hub for medical tourism.
Governor Dickson is optimistic that the institution will not only train medical personnel within the state but also produce well-trained personnel, who would be exported to other states and countries.
