Alen Alsati A 5-year-old, who was shot in the head and foot during the Christchurch attack in New Zealand has been left brain-damaged despite her father’s attempt to protect her.
Her father, identified as Wasseim Alsati was also injured and received a bullet to his stomach during the ordeal. Despite multiple Operations, Doctors at the Starship Children’s Hospital have not yet ascertained the extent to the brain damage Alen has suffered.
“Alen has suffered damage to the brain, she is making daily progress, but at this stage, she cannot speak or see people. She has begun to say the odd word and recognises her mother’s voice.”
A total of £24,000 has been raised for the family via a GiveALittle Page which canvasses for donations to support Alen’s medical treatment and the family as her father is yet to resume walking properly.
The Terrorist behind the ChristChurch Shooting has been charged with 50 counts of murder.
Alen woke up 5 days ago after about seven to eight surgeries.
