At least 260 people have been adversely affected by taking Ikigage, a homemade sorghum beer in Rwanda. They began to vomit and showed signs of diarrhoea immediately after taking the beer at a wedding ceremony.
66 were immediately hospitalized while an 8-year-old has been confirmed dead.
Health officials have been unable to ascertain the cause of the contamination at this moment, but there are indications that poor hygiene might be the culprit.
The Police has also been unable to identify which family was responsible for the contaminated beer as the drink was supposedly drawn from different households.
