The new Commissioner of Police posted to Kogi State, CP Arungwa Nwazue, has assumed duty at the Kogi Police State Command with a promise to sustain the efforts recorded in securing the state by his predecessor.
At a formal handing over ceremony held on Monday in Lokoja, the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Edeh Ayuba, said policing Kogi State was made possible due to the support received from Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and the citizens of the state.
It was a brief ritual of the inspection of a guard and salutes to the outgoing Commissioner of Police, now AIG in charge of Zone Eight.
This was followed by the arrival of the new sheriff in town, CP Nwazue who received a warm welcome with the salute from the guard of honour.
Looking ready to work, the new Commissioner of Police said he will consolidate on the gains made by his predecessor.
CP Arungwa noted that keeping Kogi safe requires intelligence sharing which he wants the citizens to continually volunteer to the police under his watch
AIG Edeh, however, believes that his successor has more to offer for the people of the state. For him, policing Kogi State was made possible with Governor Bello’s support.
