President Muhammadu Buhari has received the Leader of Chad’s Transitional Military Council, General Mahamat Idriss Deby at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The two leaders are expected to discuss the transition to civil rule in Chad after the military took over power following the death of President Idriss Deby on the battlefield last month.
It will be recalled that the Peace and Security Committee of the African Union has recommended the sharing of power with a civilian president as one of the options in the transition process in Chad.
President Buhari and General Deby will also discuss cooperation between their countries in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin.
