NEMA Distributes Relief Materials To Borno IDPs

The Nigerian government through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has provided relief materials to about 15,000 Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, at The Teachers’ Village Camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The special intervention team, led by Air Commodore, Akugbe Iyamu, who represented the Director General of NEMA, presented and distributed food and non-food items to the displaced persons who are mostly from Kukawa Local Government Area of the state.

Air Commodore Iyamu said the special intervention is a continuation of the Federal Government’s efforts at alleviating their suffering since their displacement as a result of Boko Haram insurgency in their area.

The food and non-food items distributed to the IDPs included mattresses, mosquito nets, buckets, blankets clothes, and detergents.
