Commuters travelling to and from Minna to Suleja have witnessed an increase in the transport fare, especially from Lambata.
Motorcycle riders now charge 500 Naira from Lambata to Suleja.
Commuters travelling to Minna have to pay 1, 500 Naira as there are no commercial cars to convey passengers from Lambata to the various destinations.
For taxi drivers and motorcycle riders plying alternative bush paths, some groups of youths had mounted roadblocks and are charging each vehicle before giving them access.
Sources said that some of the commuters have resorted to a long walk, especially from Lambata to Izom, where they can board a vehicle to Suleja.
The gridlock by the drivers of the articulated vehicles has forced some engagements scheduled to hold in Minna this week to be suspended.
