Over 590 Nigerians died in violent attacks across the nation as reported by SB Morgan Intelligence in a report on the state of insecurity in Nigeria. 160 incidents of violent attacks were recorded across 31 states of the federation.

The figure, an 100% increase from a similar time last year was attributed to crimes such as arson, murder and violent crimes and kidnapping incidents that were reported almost every single day.

Benue state-led with the highest casualty at 127 people killed, followed closely by Zamfara, Borno, Kaduna, Katsina, Anambra, Imo, Rivers, Yobe, Gombe, Niger, Kebbi, Akwa Ibom, Taraba, Lagos, Adamawa, Delta, Ebonyi, and Plateau State with 86, 85, 32, 31, 29, 25, 24, 21,18, 12, 11, 10, 10, 9, 6, 6, 6, 6 cases respectively.

The state of insecurity across the nation has fairly become a serious cause for concern as Imo state has enacted a day time curfew while the President recently sought international aid in combating insecurity in the nation!
