Police in Katsina State have intercepted a trailer load of 80 animals being conveyed from Zamfara to Abuja and arrested three persons who were said to be suspected bandits’ informants and cattle rustlers accompanying the lorry.
Police spokesman, Superintendent of Police, Gambo Isah, who said this while parading the suspects alongside 25 others, said their offenses contravened the recent Executive Order banning interstate cattle transportation to restore law and order which was signed by Governor Aminu Masari.
Isah also said the command arrested 32-year-old Auwal Aliyu, whom he described as a suspected fugitive, a notorious bandit on the wanted list of the police and Batsari community for various crimes bordering on banditry.
