Kano State Traffic Agency boss has turned down 500,000 naira bribe.

The Managing Director of the Kano State Road Traffic Agency, KAROTA, was offered a bribe to allow the bar scale valued 40 million naira to be unlawfully taken into the state.

The KAROTA had stopped the loaded truck from passing Hadejia Road. This led to a back and forth argument between the truck driver and the agency’s Managing Director, Baffa Babba DanAgundi.

The driver of the heavy vehicle at first, resisted arrest before DanAgundi ordered the truck to be driven to the KAROTA headquarters.

The truck owners arrived at the station and then attempted to bribe the Managing Director with 500,000 naira to allow them to take the truck filled with their goods.

DanAgundi immediately contacted the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission to inform them.

The Barrister, Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, ordered that the men are nabbed and their goods remain confiscated.

Further investigations are on-going. The truck has now been taken to Kano State Hisbah.
