Muhammed Badaru, the Governor of Jigawa has ordered that May salaries of Civil servants be paid by Wednesday 20 May.
According to him, the payment should be made before the Eid-El Fitri celebration which marks the end of the holy Ramadan month.
This was confirmed by Babangida Gantsa, the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning in Dutse the capital of Jigawa. This payment would start on 20 May or before. This is to allow Civil Servants to enjoy the forthcoming Eid-El Fitri celebration.
The commissioner urged Muslims to pray for being blessings of Allah and for him to end the pandemic disease in the last couple of days of the fast.
Going forward, Gantsa urged Civil servants to continue to follow health guidelines as stipulated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
